Clara/Rose

There seems to be a lot of similarities and parallels between Clara and Rose. So many that it cannot be a coincidence. Something is clearly up. Here is a growing list of all the similarities.

#1- Clara usually wears red, a rose is red

#2- The car that almost hit Clara's father is almost the exact car (model and color) that hit Rose's father

#3- Both have looked upon the Eye of Harmony

#4- Both have watched a planet explode from a spaceship (with dignitaries on board)

Feel free to add more similarities in the comments and I will add it to the list.

Clara Theories

I've seen some fantastic theories about who Clara is and I would like to keep a list of them here. I'll keep updating this as I find more.

#1- Clara/Rose- I'll make a separate post about this one

#2- Clara is actually River.

#3- Clara is a fragment of the TARDIS

#4- Clara is actually the Doctor's first wife

Let me know of you find more that you want to add to the list

Music thread?

I had noticed last season that there seemed to be a lot of wind chimes but this series seems to be emphasising the music. I can't help but think there may be something going on here.

Pond Life: We see the Doctor laying down some beats
Asylum of the Daleks: He said he played the triangle in Carmen
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship: He said he was hands three and four in Fantasia in G minor for four hands (or whatever that song was)

Any thoughts?

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship

This was a great episode for one-liners. There were so many good ones. Especially Rory: "I'm 31, Dad. I don't have a Christmas list." Doctor: "I DO!!!"
And Amy: "I'm easily worth two guys. You can help if you'd like."
I also liked that they included another famous historical figure and had Amy realistically flipping out. The romance thing was very unneeded though. And I'm not sure why she stayed with Lestrade-sorry-Roddin. (I think that was his name)

Little gems:
David Mitchell as the voice of a robot. I thought the robots would be a lot more important but then they became an awkward comic relief. But I love David Mitchell so it was good.
Rory's nursing supplies. It's so cool to see that he picks up useful things as they travel. It also does a lot to remind the viewers that there are adventures not shown and even sometimes when they aren't adventures. I'm sure there are times when Sexy decided they need a break from the running around.
Rory's dad. The writing was brilliant. He was such a dad. My favourite was when he wanted to have a simple sandwich on the edge of the TARDIS looking down at Earth. In that moment he reminded me of Wilfred looking down at Earth in End Of Time. So sweet. There should be more episodes with Grandfathers.
Also in that scene, the look that the Doctor gave Amy just pulled at my heart strings. To me it was a look that said remember when you first ran away with me? Remember when I held you in space? And a look that said I know you will be leaving soon. And that broke my foreshadowing heart.

But to end on a good note, I enjoyed the episode and I cannot wait for the next one.

Power of Three Theory

Someone on tumblr noticed that Amy and Rory's house is across the street from a children's playground (seen in Pond Life, I believe) and I remembered that there were some pictures and videos released that showed Matt Smith climbing around on a playground with some curious black boxes.
My thought at the time was that they would get replaced with computer generated things, but what if these were clips from Power of Three? It would mean that it takes place somewhere very close to home and probably in present day. It could also mean that people Amy knows will be affected.
And It was brought up that Amy cannot have children anymore; is this physiological or physical? I can't imagine that spending time on a children's playground knowing this would be very easy for her if it was physical, but maybe if it is mental it can help her get over it.

Asylum of the Daleks

My theories:
1) Oswin Oswald is somehow connected to Oswald Dane from Torchwood: Miracle Day
2) Oswin had traveled with the Doctor before this episode (I like this idea because then the Doctor has to deal with knowing how she will die), but doesn't seem to remember him becuase:
a) she knows this is before he meets her and is pretending she doesn't know him
b) She has forgotten because of her dalek conversion (the other people didn't really remember)
c) She erased her memory of him (maybe too painful?) like she will do with all of the daleks
d) Timey-wimey-she erased the daleks memory, which erased hers, then she somehow traveled back in time to before she had done it??
e) The daleks erased her memory of him so that she could be an excellent trap, which is how she knew how to erase the memory.
3) Oswin Oswald is not the same character who will be the companion later in the series. It is simply the same actor

Observations:
1) The dalek conversion seems an awful lot like the cybermen upgrading.

Other theories I've seen online:
nerdgirlstash on instagram- the Doctor will go back in and try to get her before she gets captured by the daleks. Or somehow the tesselecta is involved.
samlock93 on instagram-Somehow she finds a way out of the explosion and managed to become human again.
matthewhpg on hypable- "Here's a crackpot theory for you: Take a look at the chair Jenna-Louise Coleman was sitting in throughout the episode, it was the same one that the Doctor's daughter, Jenny, sat in in the ship she took off in in "The Doctor's Daughter." Do you think Jenna-Louise Coleman could be regenerated Jenny, or is BBC just reusing an old prop?" (I really like this theory!)

What are your thoughts and theories?
